  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugars in a large bowl. Make a well in the center.
  • In a small bowl beat egg. Stir in buttermilk and melted butter.
  • Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Mix gently with a rubber spatula until moistened, but do not beat. The batter will be lumpy.
  • Spoon one tablespoon of batter into paper lined muffin pan cups. Add one teaspoon of jam to each cup. Fill cups with remaining batter.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden.
