Crock Pot Cajun Beans

"I got this recipe from my daughter-in-law. She in turn got it from her friend, Dan, so where it originated is not known. This is my very favorite bean recipe and hope you enjoy it as much as we do."

directions

 • Saute the green pepper and onions in a little bacon grease before adding all ingredients to a crock pot.
 • Cook for 6 to 8 hours on low.
 • Note: Crock pots cook differently; I usually cook for less time than recipe calls for.
 • The preparation time is approximate.
 • Note: I double the amount of beans the recipe calls for to temper the hot seasoning. A personal preference.

 1. My husband adores you,he loved this bean recipe.I did too but I am not wild about the cajun spice in it,I ain't crazy about real spicy recipes, but the recipe is great. It sure made the house smell good when I was cooking it.Thank you so much,Darlene

 2. These were very good!! However, my family isn't much for really spicy food, so when I make them again, I will cut back on the Cajun spice. Very easy to put together. One of my choices for PAC Spring 2006. It's a tasty one!

I love to cook, grow seedlings for my small garden, read and play bridge. I also love to try new recipes on my husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Therefore, I truly enjoy this site!

For those of you who might wonder why I give only 4 and 5 ratings to a recipe - I try to choose a dish that has ingredients I know we will like and appeals to our taste buds. With all the wonderful recipes on this site to choose from, one can seldom go wrong. Those that occasionally don't turn out as hoped, I don't rate. Someone else may find that same recipe perfect for them!
