- 2⁄3 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup flour
- 1⁄2 cup oatmeal
- 1⁄3 cup butter, melted
directions
- Melt butter.
- Add brown sugar, flour and oatmeal.
- Mix well and sprinkle over favorite dessert.

Halving the recipe makes the right amount for a dozen muffins. Don't melt the butter if you are using it on muffins-it will sink in too much. A little too rich, in my opinion, to be a muffin topping. Awfully good on top of apples as apple crisp, though, but don't melt the butter for that, either. Three stars because of the melted butter thing.

I have a kid who won't eat muffins if they don't have a glaze or crumb topping. I wanted something with oatmeal to throw a little extra fiber in. This was fast and easy. It didn't look like the crumb toppings I've used because of the butter being melted but that's ok. It also had a great nutty flavor. We have a nut allergy to it's nice to have that flavor. Thanks, I'll be using this again.
