Valentine Cookies

- Mix in order given with a mixer. Chill dough 2-3 hours. Mix approximately 1/2 cup white sugar with a few drops of red food coloring, less for a light pink more for a darker color.
- Sprinkle flour on surface and roll out dough quite thin, then embed the sugar onto the dough, spreading all over and rolling over it slightly. Use a 2 1/2 inch heart shaped cookie cutter and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
- Cool.
- You can leave them like this OR --
- If you roll them out thin enough, put a small amount of red jelly in between and sandwich the cookies.
